Marcella M. Richter

Marcella Mable Richter, age 91,of Boone, Iowa, entered into rest on May 17, 2012 at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa.
Born on July 18, 1920 in State Center, Iowa, Marcella was the daughter of Chris and Mable (Nolta) Eggers. She attended State Center Country Schools and State Center High School. On May 18, 1937, Marcella married Herman Fredrick Richter in Marshalltown, Iowa and they moved to a farm N.E. of Boone. In 1989 she moved just outside of Boone. For 25 years Marcella worked at Bourns, Inc. of Ames as a Quality Control Inspector, retiring on her 25th year with the company. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boone and helped with the Love In Action group of her church. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, gardening and cooking. Family and friends were important to her. Marcella is preceded in death by her parents, her husband on June 30, 1977, her four brothers, Earl, Harold, Dwight and Clifford and her sister Elaine Swearingen. Marcella is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and John Butterfield of St. Louis, Missouri, her daughter, Betty Richter of Madrid, Iowa, her four grandchildren, Erik Long and his wife Sarah of Madrid, Iowa, Scott Butterfield and his wife Lisa of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Thomas Butterfield and his wife Kristi of Edina, Minnesota, Chad Butterfield and his wife Tammy of Shawnee, Kansas as well as eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Eggers of North Las Vegas, Nevada and her sister-in-law, Amanda Eggers of Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 712 12th Street in Boone, with Rev. Lindsay Watkins officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., with the family present to greet friends. Visitation will continue at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Bass Point Cemetery north of Boone. Memorials may be directed to the family, to be used at their discretion. Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone is handling the arrangements.
