Dave and I are so very sorry for your family's loss of such a good man. Don was a great educator and a very nice person. We lived close to him when I was a teenager and I spent many happy hours at his and Barb's home. May God bless all of you and give you comfort.

I am the former Sup't of schools at Roland-Story. I enjoyed every contact I had with Don. Education,golf,cards and his conversations. He was easy to be around and a joy. You have my sympathy but remember and enjoy the many good times. With hope, Dale.R

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. He gave me my first head football coaching job and encouraged me to continue in that profession. He was a fine leader for Boone during his time as superintendent and I have valued his wisdom and suggestions for over 35 years.

Don will be remembered by so many people for so many reasons. I was his daughter, Sherri Vidonne's best friend in high School at Boone. Sherri and I were inseparable, and went through many different teenager situations, with both of us being stronger because of our love for each other. Her parents were supportive of our friendship, and over the many years that have passed, Don was there for me in always being able to locate Vidonne, and help us keep connected. I enjoyed being under his guidance during high school, and never lost track of his path in life. Recently, my parents also became residents at Westhaven. Chuck Lovin helped me to find Don, and I was grateful to be able to see Don again March 25th. He was always very loving and such a humorous person. And our brief visit was a a gift I will cherish. Don brought a special light into everyone's heart. I know that he touched so many people, and was a servant of God in his daily life.
