Don was our neighbor growing up for 20+ years. He was always so kind and friendly. The Riemenschneider's were the best neighbors. I will always have a fond memory of "interviewing" Don for a school paper in Elementary school. We had to find a person we admired and interview them and I was so proud to write a paper on my interview with my neighbor Don. He was more than happy to help a student. He was also the first house we went to on Halloween because he was so cheerful AND gave out quarters! Don was a great person and everyone who knew him was blessed. He was a great person to have in the Boone School District as well as neighbor. My prayers will continue to be with Barb and family. Sara (Drewry) Clausen

Don was my business class teacher in 1960-61. He was so very precise and helpful to prepare me for employment. I knew he was a stellar-type of person.

Dear Mrs. Reminschneider, Idon't think I ever got to meet you, but what a wonderful person you must be. I was a member of the class of 61, and it was lovely to see Mr. Reminschneider and Chuck Lovin at our 50th reunion last year. Both of these men have been mentors to so many students - thousands. You and your family and friends will be in our thoughts and prayers. His passing is a huge loss to Boone, and the world of students, Nat God keep you in His care.

Don knew me as Barb Kramer - MANY fond memories of him - one of the nicest most respectful men I have ever known. My condolences to Barb and the Family.

I would be hard pressed to add any new comments here re how wonderful Mr R was. :)

I hope the following poem gives you more peace and comfort at this time.

To Those I Love & Those Who Love Me When I am gone, release me, let me go

I have so many things to see and do

You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears

Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess

How much you gave to me in happiness

I thank you for the love you each have shown

But now it's time I travelled on alone.

So grieve a while for me if grieve you must

Then let your grief be comforted by trust

It's only for a while that we must part

So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on

So if you need me, call me and I will come

Though you can't see or touch me I'll be near

All of my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone

I'll greet you with a smile and say

"Welcome Home"

Mr. Riemenschneider was a wonderful superintendent. He treated all of us with such respect. I have a terrific memory of him, dressed in a suit and tie, sitting in the hall outside Mrs. Brown's room, listening to kindergartners read, giving them his complete attention. A charming man.

My sympathies. Julie Bacon

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Bob Powers for years, and know how much he cared for Don. No words can take away the pain you are now feeling, but I hope the memories you hold close to your hearts will sustain you in the days ahead. God Bless You Penny Stoker
